Jack Callil is an aspiring editing and writer living in Melbourne, where he is currently studying a Masters of Writing and Editing at RMIT University.
Recently, his creative nonfiction piece 'When Everything Goes Shit For A Bit' was winner of the Lord Major's Creative Writing Award 2017. His other writing spans journalism and creative work, appearing in VICE, Voiceworks, Junkee, Imprint, RedR Australia and The Courier.
As an editor in 2017, he was Project Manager and Editorial Manager of Visible Ink, a literary anthology of fiction, poetry, nonfiction, art, and flash-fiction. He is currently interning as Editorial Assistant at Meanjin, and has interned previously at VICE in both editorial and video production. During this time he was part of the product team for the documentary 'Over-Represented: A VICE Special on Indigenous Incarceration'. He has also interned in editorial at Imprint, an arts publication.
